How NOT to get Divorced

So, coming from divorce and now married to someone who got divorced, I am willing to try almost ANYTHING not to get divorced (notice I said almost)...here are some of my observations:

1. Don't let your kids sleep with you! It seems like EVERYONE I know who's kids slept with them had/has a bad marriage and eventually got divorced. I work at a preschool....I see lots of families. This seems to be the trend, and I know for a fact that at least 5 people I know, all of which are divorced, had their kids sleep with them. Don't know any other divorced people aside from the 5, so this is my basis.

2. Don't get a king-sized bed! I was watching a show (I think on TLC or HGTV) called "Please Buy My House", where a divorcee was trying to sell her house but couldn't. She brought in a fung shui (sp?), home cleanser person to see what kind of energy her house had to find out why no one would buy it. The lady walks into the bedroom and immediately asks what size the bed is...of course a king. The lady's logic was that under the king mattress is 2 twin box springs; two separate things as opposed to one unified bed. This made the harmony bad between the husband and wife, because they weren't united, and they divorced. Again, I know for a fact that 4 out of the 5 people mentioned above all had a king-sized bed (I plan to ask the one that I don't know for sure). How crazy is that?! So, my husband and I will be sticking with a good 'ole queen sized bed, and our kids will NEVER sleep in our bed!

You are totally right! I support that kind of thinking. Children should sleep in their bed and in their bedroom. My child always has and always will unless he is sick! I guess not having a king sizes bed helps too! LoL But still I would not share my bed with my child for a simple reason! I love having sex! And lots of it! So I must say my marriage is strong for that reason! LOL. Well, I have been married for almost nine years, and the idea of getting a divorce is not appealing to me. Besides training a man takes a long long long time! I love to look at the menu from time to time, but my husband has the right ingredients in him such as sexy lips, great big butty, sexy legs. Well , he is simply smoking hot! So in conclusion, kids should have their own room!

LOL perhaps you are opening to fast there Yasi.

As for kids sharing room with parents (aswell as what Yasi said), psychologically speaking, the kids become over dependent on their parents, spoiled, and have a tendency to be able to sleep with their parents becaus their parents are not strick enough with their rules, thus the kids walk all over the parents, and are basically in control. But that's just my I've-been-out-of-college-for-almost-2yrs-psych talk lol

A few comments to be taken lightheartedly...

1) Maybe it's not that the kids sleeping with the parents caused the divorce. Maybe it's that when the couple had kids, things "got hard" and one or both parents didn't adjust well thus making the tough business of raising kids even thougher. Nevertheless... unless there's a one-off special circumstance, I agree that kids should sleep in their own beds. To Yasiris' point, it could be that the parents (one or both) have given up on sex, an important part of a marriage. Maybe they're too tired raising kids. I say, if you want a marriage to last (and this is the lighthearted part) don't have kids! Oh, and I also agree with Zoomy.

2) I want a king-sized bed. When my husband and I go to a hotel, we always try to reserve one. We end up in the middle when we want to cuddle, yet we're able to stretch out too. King sized beds don't cause divorces. People who stop trying to make the marriage work are the ones who cause divorces. People, not things. Also, (lighthearted part) king sized beds are expensive (if you get a good one). Maybe the couple is spending beyond their means and as we know, financial difficulties are one of the top causes of divorce. (Which is funny, because if you both work on being better with money, you actually save money by staying together....)

I had time to kill this morning. Can't you tell?

Oh, and # 3 - If your conclusions are correct, we can expect that BrAngelina will be getting divorced as they have ordered a 9 foot wide bed (or something crazy like that) so that all of their kids can sleep with them. (They all sleep with them now, but since they're looking to expand their brood...)

They aren't technically married...and the thing with the king-sized bed, the fung shui lady on tv said it was because of the separate twin box springs...you can now buy a king-sized box spring, but you'll pay a hefty dollar for it. And she also said a red sheet in between the box spring and the mattress should make things ok. And...I too think kids cause divorce (what else do I have to base it off of?). But, I still plan to challenge that thought in my own family :o) Hopefully sooner than later...
